Arlington Public Schools announced on Apr. 24 that 30 of its students have been invited to participate in Virginia’s 2025-26 Summer World Languages Academies and Residential Governor’s School Programs.
The selection offers these students the chance to take part in immersive academic experiences, mentorship opportunities, and visual and performing arts programs. These state-run summer initiatives are designed for rising juniors and seniors across Virginia.
The World Language Academies include full-immersion courses in French, German, and Spanish, as well as a partial-immersion Japanese Academy and a Latin Academy. In addition to language study, the Summer Residential Governor’s Schools offer specialized tracks in areas such as visual and performing arts, humanities, medicine and health sciences, mathematics, science and technology. There are also mentorships available in marine science or engineering.
A total of 30 Arlington Public Schools students have been invited to participate this summer. The district extended congratulations to those selected.
