Residential refuse, recycling, curbside food waste, and yard waste collection in Alexandria will be postponed on Monday, October 13 due to Indigenous Peoples’ Day. According to city officials, these services will resume with a one-day delay for the rest of the week. Monday’s scheduled collections will take place on Tuesday, October 14; Tuesday’s collections will move to Wednesday, October 15; Wednesday’s collections will shift to Thursday, October 16; and Thursday’s pickups will occur on Friday, October 17.
The Household Hazardous Waste/Electronic Collection Drop-off Center will also close on Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
