The City of Alexandria will host its first New Year’s Eve Fireworks Celebration at the Waterfront on December 31. The event will take place at Waterfront Park, located at 1 Prince St., from 7 p.m. to midnight.

The evening will feature live music and two fireworks shows, one at 7:30 p.m. and another at midnight. DJ One Luv is scheduled to perform from 7 to 10 p.m., followed by Dream City Brass from 10 to 11:55 p.m.

Attendees can visit DASH’s warming bus on Strand St. for a place to warm up between events or participate in craft activities provided by the Mobile Art Lab.

The city encourages visitors to use bicycles, walk, or take public transportation due to limited parking in the Old Town historic district. More information about parking options can be found on the Where to Park in Old Town page.

Interpretation and translation services are available upon request by emailing LanguageAccess@alexandriava.gov or calling 703.746.3960. For disability accommodations, contact SpecialEvents@alexandriava.gov or call 703.746.5590, Virginia Relay 711.

“Whether you’re bringing family for the early fireworks or staying up to count down to midnight, this is a great way to celebrate safely and locally with friends and neighbors,” according to the city announcement.
