Alexandria announces street repaving and maintenance schedule for October 14-17

The City of Alexandria’s Department of Transportation and Environmental Services has announced scheduled repaving and maintenance work for several streets from October 14 to 17. The department oversees the upkeep of sidewalks, alleys, and more than 561 lane miles of roads throughout Alexandria, aiming to keep infrastructure in good condition for all users.

Residents and businesses on streets slated for repaving are notified in advance, typically through posted project signs or letters. Temporary “No Parking” signs will be installed before work begins, and the city asks the public to follow these signs to avoid tickets or towing.

The city cautions that the street repaving list and schedule may change due to factors such as weather, equipment availability, other city projects, or utility coordination. If delays occur, planned work will be rescheduled when conditions allow.

The streets scheduled for repaving include Pryor Street (from Richenbacher Avenue to Taney Avenue), Louis Place (from North Howard Street to end), Hare Court (from Louis Place to end), Walleston Court (from Janneys Lane to end), Kingston Avenue (from Janneys Lane to end), Kingston Place (from Kingston Avenue to end), Dearborn Place (from Fort Williams Parkway to end), Featherstone Place (From Fort Worth Avenue to end), and Holmes Run Parkway (from North Van Dorn Street to Duke Street).

Concrete maintenance work will also be performed citywide in response to service requests.
