The Alexandria City Council will begin holding its meetings at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center, located at 4850 Mark Center Drive, starting January 13. This temporary move is necessary as City Hall undergoes renovations.

All regular legislative meetings, public hearings, and budget sessions of the City Council will take place at this new location until the renovation work at City Hall is completed. The schedule and public participation options for these meetings are expected to remain unchanged unless otherwise announced. Residents are encouraged to check individual meeting agendas for any updates.

For other city meetings that were previously held in City Hall, updated locations can be found on the city’s boards page at alexandriava.gov/Boards. Meeting schedules, agendas, and further updates are available on the city calendar at alexandriava.gov/Calendar.

The Del Pepper Community Resource Center’s council chamber is situated on the first floor. The facility is accessible by public transit; it is a five-minute walk from the Mark Center Transit Station, which is served by Metrobus and free DASH Bus routes. For those driving, a four-level parking garage next to the center offers free parking for up to four hours for individuals attending council meetings or accessing city services.

Alexandria operates as an independent municipal government providing a range of public services and community programs within its boundaries. Established in 1749 along the Potomac River in Northern Virginia, Alexandria maintains historic sites and promotes equity through its policies. More information about city services and governance can be found on its official website.
