The City of Alexandria has announced that its SnowReport Tracker is now live and offering updated information on roadway conditions throughout the city. The tracker provides residents with details about which roads are passable, though updates may be delayed briefly to ensure operational data is accurate.

In a statement to residents, the city addressed recent issues with reporting accuracy. “We apologize for the frustration and confusion that resulted from reporting errors. Last night, the City’s inspection crews, who normally handle day-to-day inspections of the City’s right-of-way, were sent to all zones on both shifts to assess roadway conditions in person.”

As of now, city officials report that all primary and secondary routes are fully passable. Residential routes are currently 57% passable. Crews continue working on plowing and treating residential streets and are monitoring for refreeze conditions. Once all roads have been treated and made passable, efforts will shift to widening intersections, travel lanes, parking lanes, bike lanes, and trails.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding as crews continue this work and as we strive to provide clear, accurate, and timely updates,” the city said in its message.
