Residents of Alexandria will have the opportunity to test drive electric vehicles at an upcoming event organized by the City. The EV Ride and Drive event is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Chinquapin Park, Lot 3, located near the tennis courts at 3210 King St.

The event comes as federal tax credits for electric vehicle purchases are set to expire on September 30, 2025. Attendees can try out various electric vehicles provided by local dealerships and speak with current EV owners about charging options, incentives, and other aspects of owning an electric vehicle.

In addition to cars, participants can also explore micromobility alternatives such as electric bikes and scooters from local retailers or the City’s micromobility operators.

Those interested in test driving vehicles are asked to bring their driver’s license. Further details about the event are available on the City’s website at https://www.alexandriava.gov/energy/electric-vehicles.
