The Alexandria Police Department announced on March 9 that a Grand Jury has indicted Timothy Valentin, a 30-year-old resident of Fort Washington, Maryland, on multiple felony charges related to the alleged sexual assault of four victims.
The case is significant for the community as it highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address and prosecute sexual violence. The department’s investigation involved collaboration with victim advocates and law enforcement agencies across the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
According to Alexandria Police Chief Tarrick McGuire, “Today’s indictment charges Valentin with multiple felony offenses related to three victims, including: Four counts of Rape by Force; Four counts of Rape by Incapacitation; Two counts of Adulteration; Two counts of Sodomy; Two counts of Abduction with Intent to Defile; One count of Aggravated Sexual Battery by Incapacitation; Two counts of Sodomy by Force or Incapacitation; Fifteen counts of Unlawful Filming.” These new charges are in addition to those filed in December 2025 involving another victim. In that earlier case, Valentin was charged with two counts of rape, forcible sodomy, abduction with intent to defile, and alteration of food or drink.
Valentin was entered into the National Crime Information Center system as a wanted felon. Within hours on December 11, 2025, Alexandria patrol officers received an alert from an automatic license plate reader indicating his vehicle was traveling through the city. Officers located and arrested him on the outstanding warrant. He has been held in custody since then and was denied bond in January.
The Alexandria Police Department encourages anyone who may have had contact with Valentin or who may have gone on a date with him to contact authorities via their tip line or secure evidence portal. Survivors seeking support can reach out confidentially to the Alexandria Sexual Assault Center at any time.
