A 20-year-old employee of Gustave Boulangerie in Alexandria has been charged with multiple counts related to the unlawful creation of images after a hidden camera was discovered in the restaurant’s employee restroom. The Alexandria Police Department identified the suspect as Joshua Hombrebueno, a resident of Oxon Hill, Maryland.

The investigation began on September 20, 2025, when a mother and her young child found an active iPhone camera concealed inside the bathroom vanity. Detectives from the Alexandria Police Department recovered footage showing several victims, including adults and children, who were unknowingly recorded while using the restroom.

Authorities executed a search warrant on the device and were able to identify several victims who indicated their intent to press charges. The police department’s Criminal Investigations Division worked with the Alexandria Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office to determine appropriate charges for Hombrebueno. He later turned himself in through his legal counsel and was arrested without incident.

“This was a deeply troubling case involving serious violations of privacy,” said Tina Laguna, Alexandria Police Department Assistant Chief of Police, Investigative Support Bureau. “Our detectives acted swiftly to identify victims and ensure accountability. We are grateful to the community members who came forward to assist with this investigation.”

The case remains open, and police encourage anyone with relevant information to contact Detective Quint or use the department’s non-emergency line.
