Alexandria police investigate shooting on Swann Avenue; victim hospitalized

Alexandria police are investigating a shooting that took place near Swann Avenue and Oakville Street on the evening of January 11. Officers responded to reports of shots fired at approximately 9:01 p.m. and found one individual with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

The Alexandria Police Department stated, “This incident remains under investigation. Detectives are continuing to gather information and review evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.”

Authorities are asking residents who were in the area or who may have seen or heard anything related to the incident to come forward. They encourage anyone with information, including video footage from security cameras, doorbell cameras, or dash cameras, to contact police. “Anyone with information is asked to call Detective J. Marable at 703-746-6883 or the Alexandria Police Department’s non-emergency line at 703-746-4444. Callers may remain anonymous,” according to the department.
