The Alexandria Sheriff’s Office has charged Lindolfo Pedraza, a 53-year-old man from Cumberland, Maryland, with making violent threats against two judges in Alexandria. The Cumberland Police Department arrested Pedraza at his home following the issuance of felony warrants.

According to authorities, the investigation began after judicial officers received several threatening communications last week. The Sheriff’s Office responded by opening a criminal case and obtaining warrants for multiple offenses: two counts each of threats of death or bodily injury, obstruction of justice, harassment by computer, and one count of stalking.

Sheriff Sean Casey stated, “In Alexandria, threats to judges or other judicial officers may be rare but are always taken very seriously. In this case, the threats of violence required immediate action. Thanks to Investigator Cañas, our Investigations, Professionalism & Oversight team, the Alexandria Police Department, and the Cumberland Police Department for taking swift action that resulted in the suspect’s arrest.”

Pedraza is currently held at the Allegany County Detention Center in Cumberland while awaiting extradition to Alexandria.
