The Alexandria Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for the spring session of the Sheriff’s Community Academy. The program, which is free and open to people who live or work in the City of Alexandria, aims to provide insight into the operations and responsibilities of the Sheriff’s Office.
According to Sheriff Sean Casey, “applications are now being accepted for the spring session of the Sheriff’s Community Academy. This free program offers those who live or work in the City of Alexandria the opportunity to learn firsthand about the Sheriff’s Office and its crucial role in local public safety.”
The academy will take place over four consecutive Saturday mornings from March 7 through March 28. Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, February 27, but participation is limited.
Attendees will receive presentations and participate in interactive sessions covering topics such as jail operations, inmate services and programs, judicial operations, and public safety services. The curriculum also includes tours of both the Adult Detention Center and the Alexandria Courthouse, as well as hands-on activities.
