The Alexandria Sister Cities Committee will hold its annual whisky tasting event at the Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum on May 2. The event, scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m., invites attendees to explore whiskies from Scotland and learn about their history and culture.
The event aims to support educational and cultural exchanges between Alexandria, Virginia, and its sister cities of Dundee, Scotland, and Helsingborg, Sweden. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the committee’s ongoing programs. According to the announcement, “guests will enjoy a guided tasting across the whisky regions of Scotland, gaining insights into the craftsmanship and culture behind each pour.” Attendees will sample five different whiskies and receive a souvenir Glencairn glass.
General admission tickets are priced at $75 and include hors d’oeuvres. VIP tickets have sold out. Wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for those who do not drink whisky. There will also be a raffle with prizes during the evening.
