ALX Jazz Fest to host holiday event with live music and art on December 12

A Very Merry ALX Jazz Fest is set to take place on Friday, December 12, at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Old Town Alexandria. The event marks the conclusion of the ALX Jazz Fest 2025 season and is open to all ages.

The festivities begin at 5 p.m. with a pre-mingle in the Grand Masonic Hall. Attendees can participate in art projects and activities led by artists David Amoroso, Bex Novak, and Saya Behnam. Live music during this portion will be provided by KayaZhanna Donaldson.

Food from local vendors will be available for purchase, along with beer and wine offered by Port City Brewing Company. Visitors may also buy tickets for tours of the Observation Deck conducted by Masonic staff and for visits with Santa Claus.

At 7 p.m., a jazz concert featuring the Eric Byrd Trio will take place in the Memorial theater. The group will perform their rendition of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” in its entirety.

“Enjoy a festive gathering of music, art, and poetry at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Old Town Alexandria (101 Callahan Dr.). RSVPs are requested,” organizers stated.

Admission to A Very Merry ALX Jazz Fest is free. Parking is available at the venue, and public transportation options include Metrorail’s Blue or Yellow lines to King Street-Old Town Station as well as DASH bus service (dashbus.com) and Metrobus routes (wmata.com).
