Alexandria City Manager James Parajon has officially established the Green Building Policy Advisory Group to explore updates to the City of Alexandria’s current Green Building Policy. Individuals or organizations interested in participating as representatives in the Advisory Group should complete the Green Building Advisory Group Application by 5 p.m. on Friday, January 19.  
The composition of the Advisory Group will consist of:  
•    An Environmental Policy Commission (EPC) member   
•    A Planning Commission member   
•    An affordable housing resident or representative from tenant association   
•    An environmental justice group (non-profit)   
•    An architect  
•    A general contractor  
•    A building ecology professional (academic or practitioner)   
•    Up to two large-scale developers
•    An affordable housing developer   
•    A residential home builder   
•    A land use attorney   
•    A National Association for Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP) representative  
The Advisory Group will provide insights on topics to be considered for inclusion in the updated Green Building Policy. It will review presentations and case studies, sharing priorities, opportunities, and challenges within each topic. View the Green Building Advisory Group Application for more details.  
As approved in the City’s Interdepartmental Long Range Planning Work Program, the Office of Climate Action will finalize the update of the Green Building Policy, in partnership and consultation with Planning & Zoning, Housing, Code Administration, General Services, and the Office of the City Attorney.
