Arlington County announces modified government schedule for Labor Day

Arlington County Government offices and services will operate on modified schedules for the Labor Day holiday, which falls on Monday, September 1, 2025. Trash, recycling, and yard waste curbside routes will continue with regular collection. Permit parking remains in effect unless otherwise indicated by signage, while parking meters will not be enforced during the holiday.

The Arlington County Public Schools District enrolled 27,536 students during the 2023-24 school year. Washington Liberty High School had the highest enrollment among the county’s 36 schools, with 2,904 students. White students made up the largest ethnic group in Arlington County schools at 41.9% of total enrollment (11,534 students), followed by Hispanic students at 30.3% (8,335 students). Overall enrollment in Arlington County schools saw a slight decrease of 0.2% compared to the previous year’s total of 27,582 students. The Montessori Public School of Arlington enrolled the most pre-kindergarten students in the county with 103 children, representing 11.7% of all pre-kindergarten enrollments.
