Arlington County Police detail assaults and robberies in latest daily crime report

The Arlington County Police Department released its daily crime report for September 12, 2025, detailing several incidents that occurred on September 11. The report covers significant criminal events but does not include every police event in the county during the specified period.

One of the most serious incidents was an aggravated malicious wounding in the 3500 block of Wilson Boulevard at around 6:58 p.m. According to police, a male suspect entered a business, went behind the counter to collect merchandise, and was confronted by an employee. A physical altercation followed, during which the suspect displayed a knife and struck the employee multiple times, causing several lacerations. The suspect fled on foot before officers arrived. Responding officers provided medical assistance to the employee before medics transported him to a hospital with serious injuries. The suspect is described as a Black male with long dreadlocks, approximately 6’0”-6’3”, wearing a black hoodie, gray pants, and white and black shoes. The investigation is ongoing.

A robbery was reported earlier that morning at approximately 6:38 a.m. in the 600 block of N. Glebe Road. Two suspects entered a business about twenty minutes prior to police arrival, concealed merchandise, and left without paying. One suspect threatened an employee outside and threw a rock at them before both suspects fled on foot. No injuries were reported in this incident. Suspect one is described as a Black male, about 19-20 years old, 6’0” with braids and wearing all black clothing; suspect two is also described as a Black male, about 19-20 years old, 5’10” and bald, also wearing all black clothing. This case remains under investigation.

Other reported incidents include trespassing on Washington Boulevard and S. Hayes Street; larceny on 23rd Street S.; assault and battery on Crystal Drive; vehicle tampering on S. Lincoln Street; larceny from auto on N. Oakland Street; suspicious circumstances in several locations; fraud cases; identity theft; and additional larcenies across various blocks.

The report notes that all individuals arrested or charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

Arlington County Public Schools District enrolled 27,536 students during the 2023-24 school year according to state data (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Washington Liberty High School had the highest enrollment among county schools with 2,904 students for that period (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). White students represented the largest ethnic group in county schools at nearly 42% of total enrollment (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home), while overall student numbers declined slightly by 0.2% compared to the previous year (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Montessori Public School of Arlington enrolled the largest number of pre-kindergarten students among local schools (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home).
