Arlington County Police detail burglary and other incidents in daily crime report

Arlington County Police released the daily crime report for October 3, 2025, detailing several incidents that occurred across the county. The report covers significant criminal activity from the previous day and is not a comprehensive list of all police events.

A late burglary was reported in the 3100 block of Clarendon Boulevard. Police responded at about 1:49 p.m. on October 2 to a larceny call. Investigators determined that around 3:47 a.m., a male suspect entered a closed business, stole a safe, and left the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a heavy-set White or Hispanic male, approximately 5’9” to 6’2” tall, wearing a blue hoodie, brown jacket, black pants, light-colored shoes, and a face covering. The investigation remains ongoing.

Other incidents included assault and battery in the 5100 block of 8th Road S., larceny in the 4200 block of Fairfax Drive, shoplifting in the 1400 block of S. Hayes Street, larceny from auto in the 400 block of Chain Bridge Road, and an eluding case in the 700 block of I-395 North.

The online reports section listed additional cases such as multiple larcenies from auto across different locations, fraud incidents on various streets including N. Adams Street and Key Boulevard, destruction of property on N. Moore Street, harassment on N. Cleveland Street, extortion on N. Pershing Drive and Richmond Highway, identity thefts on Wilson Boulevard and 40th Place N., suspicious circumstances at several addresses including S. Joyce Street and N. Edison Street, among others.

According to Arlington County Public Schools District data for the 2023-24 school year https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home, white students made up the largest ethnic group with over forty percent of enrollment while Hispanic students accounted for just over thirty percent https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home. Washington Liberty High School had the highest student population among county schools with nearly three thousand enrolled https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home.

The police department reminds residents that information provided in this report is based on initial accounts and may change as investigations proceed: “All individuals arrested or charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and charges may be amended during the court proceedings.”
