Among the incidents detailed was a weapons violation on September 11 in the 2400 block of S. Lowell Street. Police conducted a traffic stop after observing an improperly registered vehicle and found the driver had a suspended license. A search led to the recovery of a concealed firearm and suspected narcotics. “Arnu Diggs III, 37, of Alexandria, VA was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of Narcotics, Possession of a Concealed Firearm, Possession of Narcotics by Prisoner, Driving an Improperly Registered Vehicle and Driving on a Suspended License. He was held without bond.”
An unlawful entry incident occurred on September 14 at the 1300 block of S. George Mason Drive when police responded to a breaking and entering call at a vacant apartment. “Christepher Fabian Castillo, 21, of No Fixed Address, was arrested, and charged with Unlawful Entry.”
Another reported event involved brandishing in the early hours of September 14 at the 4500 block of 31st Street S., where “the female victim returned to her residence to find that the male suspect, that is known to her, had made entry into her residence. When she confronted the suspect, he brandished what appeared to be firearm before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.” The investigation continues.
A late-reported burglary at a construction site in the 1500 block of Fairfax Drive revealed forced entry into multiple offices between September 11 and September 12; property damage and theft were reported with no suspect description available.
Police also investigated attempted burglary and burglary incidents at a residence under construction in the 5000 block of Chesterfield Road between September 10 and September 12. Two suspects reportedly broke windows and stole equipment over several days before fleeing when confronted by an owner via alarm system.
Other offenses listed include several cases each of assault and battery, larceny (including from autos), destruction of property, recovered stolen vehicles, eluding police, fraud, extortion, suspicious circumstances, and online reports regarding similar crimes throughout various neighborhoods.
