The Arlington County Police Department released its daily crime report for October 28, 2025, detailing several incidents from the previous days. The report is published every weekday except county holidays and provides a summary of significant criminal activity in the area.

Among the reported incidents was a brandishing event on October 20. A male suspect boarded a transit bus at N. Glebe Road and N. Pershing Road and engaged in a verbal dispute with the driver. As he exited the bus, he made threatening statements and displayed what appeared to be a firearm before fleeing on foot. The suspect is described as a Black male with facial hair, wearing all black and carrying a black backpack. The investigation into this incident remains ongoing.

Another notable incident involved a burglary reported late in the day on October 27 in the 1600 block of N. 22nd Street. Between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., unknown suspects entered a residence, searched through the interior, and then left the scene. No items were reported damaged or stolen, and there are no available suspect descriptions at this time. Police continue to investigate.

The report also listed several other crimes across Arlington County, including multiple counts of assault and battery, larceny, shoplifting, stolen property, larceny from auto, eluding police, fraud, destruction of property, identity theft, and vehicle tampering. Locations for these incidents ranged across various neighborhoods and streets.

The police remind residents that information in the daily report is generally based on initial reports. “All individuals arrested or charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and charges may be amended during the court proceedings,” according to the report.

Arlington County is also home to one public school district which enrolled 27,536 students during the 2023-24 school year, slightly fewer than the previous year. Washington Liberty High School had the largest student body among local schools with 2,904 students enrolled during that period. The student population in Arlington County schools is diverse; white students made up 41.9% of enrollment while Hispanic students accounted for just over 30%. Additionally, Montessori Public School of Arlington led in pre-kindergarten enrollment countywide.
