Arlington County Police detail recent criminal incidents across multiple neighborhoods

The Arlington County Police Department released its daily crime report for September 16, 2025, listing several incidents that occurred across the county. The report includes larceny, shoplifting, destruction of property, fraud, eluding police, assault and battery, and threats.

Incidents of larceny were reported in the 1200 block and 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. Shoplifting was noted in both the 1100 block of S. Hayes Street and the 700 block of N. Glebe Road. There was a case of destruction of property on the 5700 block of Langston Boulevard and a fraud incident on the 900 block of Army Navy Drive.

Two separate eluding incidents were documented: one in the 1600 block of S. Joyce Street and another in the 4400 block of N. Glebe Road. Assault and battery cases were reported at three locations: the 3000 block of Washington Boulevard, the 3200 block of 24th Street S., and the 2000 block of 5th Street S.

Additionally, an online report was filed regarding threats in the 4100 block of Vacation Lane.

The police department notes that information provided is based on initial reports and may change as investigations continue. All individuals arrested or charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

Arlington County Public Schools District enrolled a total of 27,536 students during the 2023-24 school year according to state education data (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Among these schools, Washington Liberty High School had the highest enrollment with 2,904 students (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). White students made up about 41.9% (11,534) while Hispanic students accounted for roughly 30.3% (8,335) of total enrollment (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Overall student numbers saw a slight decrease from the previous year by about 0.2% (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). For pre-kindergarten education, Montessori Public School of Arlington enrolled the largest number with 103 students—11.7% of all pre-K students in Arlington County (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home).

The daily crime report does not include every police event within this time frame but highlights significant incidents as initially reported to law enforcement.
