The Arlington County Police Department released its daily crime report for October 9, 2025, detailing several incidents that occurred in the county on October 8 and through online reports.
According to police, an unlawful entry was reported at approximately 9:04 a.m. in the 800 block of S. Greenbrier Street. The report states: “Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was inside her residence when the male suspect, who is known to her, forced entry into the home. The victim ran to another room, and the suspect subsequently fled the scene prior to police arrival.” The investigation remains ongoing.
Other incidents included destruction of property in the 1600 block of 13th Road S., trespassing in both the 5500 block of 8th Street S. and the 4200 block of Fairfax Drive, and multiple shoplifting cases on Army Navy Drive and 2nd Street S. A stolen vehicle was also reported—a gray 2020 Kia Sportage with Virginia plates TSS1531—from the 1200 block of S. Courthouse Road.
Online reports documented larceny at several locations including S. Wakefield Street, Arlington Boulevard, Wilson Boulevard, S. Hayes Street, and Army Navy Drive. Additional incidents involved suspicious circumstances on N. Stuart Street, threats on N. Wayne Street, extortion on S. Monroe Street, harassment on 8th Road S., vehicle tampering on N. Liberty Street, fraud cases on Wilson Boulevard and 11th Street S., shoplifting on Army Navy Drive, and identity theft on S. Glebe Road.
The report notes that all individuals arrested or charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
Arlington County is home to a single public school district that enrolled a total of 27,536 students during the 2023-24 school year. Washington Liberty High School had the highest enrollment among local schools with 2,904 students. White students made up 41.9% of enrollment, followed by Hispanic students at 30.3%. Overall enrollment saw a slight decrease from the previous year by 0.2%. The Montessori Public School of Arlington had the largest number of pre-kindergarten students among county schools with 103 enrolled.
