Arlington County police report details criminal activity for October 10

Police in Arlington County released their daily crime report for October 10, 2025, outlining several incidents that occurred throughout the area. The report includes a range of offenses such as brandishing a weapon, trespassing, shoplifting, assault and battery, recovered stolen vehicles, destruction of property, larceny, suspicious circumstances, and fraud.

A notable incident took place at approximately 3:27 a.m. on October 8 in the 4600 block of King Street. Police responded to a report of a weapons violation. According to authorities, “a witness reported observing a male suspect exit a vehicle and approach another vehicle. A verbal dispute ensued during which the suspect allegedly displayed a firearm. All parties left the scene in their respective vehicles prior to police arrival.” The suspect is described as a Black male in his 20s who was wearing a red hat and black clothing. Police stated that “the investigation is ongoing.”

Other incidents reported include multiple cases of trespassing on Fairfax Drive and Richmond Highway; shoplifting on S. Hayes Street and Langston Boulevard; several instances of assault and battery across different locations; two recovered stolen vehicles on S. Walter Reed Drive and Army Navy Drive; as well as reports of destruction of property.

Online reports documented additional crimes such as larceny at various addresses including Fairfax Drive and Army Navy Drive; suspicious circumstances in areas like S. Nelson Street and N. Taft Street; fraud cases on N. Carlin Springs Road and Langston Boulevard.

The police remind residents that “information contained in the Daily Crime Report is generally based on initial reports made to the Police Department,” noting that follow-up investigations may provide new or different details about each case.

Arlington County is also home to its own public school district which enrolled 27,536 students during the 2023-24 school year according to data from the Virginia Department of Education (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). The district’s enrollment declined slightly by 0.2% compared to the previous year (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Among its schools, Washington Liberty High School had the highest enrollment with 2,904 students (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). White students comprised the largest ethnic group at 41.9%, followed by Hispanic students at just over 30% (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). For pre-kindergarten education, Montessori Public School of Arlington enrolled the most students among county schools (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home).
