This week, from January 12 to 16, 2026, schools in Virginia are recognizing the contributions of their principals as part of Virginia School Principals Appreciation Week.

Principals play a central role in school communities. According to the announcement, “Our principals are more than leaders; they are the heart of our schools. They collaborate tirelessly with teachers, staff, students and families to foster a nurturing and productive learning environment. Their commitment to excellence shapes the future of our students and our community.”

The message encourages community members to express gratitude for principals’ leadership. “Join us in applauding their unwavering support and inspirational leadership. Together, let’s thank them for their pivotal role in guiding our young learners towards their dreams and possibilities,” the statement reads.
