The Arlington County Police Department released its daily crime report for August 26, 2025, detailing a range of incidents from the previous days. The report includes significant criminal events but is not a comprehensive list of all police activity in the county during the period.
One incident involved a late report of brandishing on N. Sycamore Street at 17th Street N. According to police, at approximately 1:00 p.m. on August 21, a dispute occurred between two male drivers. When both vehicles stopped on N. Roosevelt Street, “the suspect exited his vehicle, brandished what appeared to be a firearm at the victim, reentered his vehicle and fled the scene.” No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 30 years old, driving a gray sedan. The investigation continues.
A burglary was reported in the 900 block of N. Taylor Street. Police received an online report indicating that between 8:20 and 9:00 a.m. on August 25, someone entered an unoccupied home and stole electronics before leaving the scene. There is no available description of any suspects.
Another case involved unlawful entry in the 6900 block of Fairfax Drive between August 23 and August 25. A female resident reported that someone entered her occupied residence but did not steal anything before fleeing.
Other incidents listed include multiple reports of shoplifting across several commercial areas such as S. Joyce Street and S. Hayes Street; larceny cases on Army Navy Drive and Crystal Drive; assault and battery incidents in locations including N. Wakefield Street and S. Eads Street; destruction of property; trespassing; extortion; fraud; suspicious circumstances; and larceny from auto.

Arlington County Public Schools District serves as the only school district in Arlington County and enrolled 27,536 students during the 2023-24 school year (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Washington Liberty High School had the highest enrollment among local schools with 2,904 students (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). White students made up the largest ethnic group in county schools at nearly 42%, followed by Hispanic students at just over 30% (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Overall enrollment declined slightly by about 0.2% compared to the previous year (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). Montessori Public School of Arlington enrolled the most pre-kindergarten students among county schools with 103 children, representing nearly twelve percent of all pre-K enrollments locally (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home).
