Arlington Public Schools (APS) announced it will offer free grab-and-go meals to students ahead of an expected winter storm this weekend. The initiative aims to help families who may face difficulties due to severe weather.

According to APS, three days’ worth of prepared breakfast and lunch meals will be available for any families in need. Meals can be picked up on Friday, January 23, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center, Door 12, located at 3501 2nd St. S.

APS stated: “As our community prepares for this weekend’s winter storm, APS recognizes that severe weather can create additional hardship.” The statement continued: “To ensure students have access to food during this time, APS will provide three days of free prepared breakfast and lunch meals to any families in need.”

Families are required to provide the student’s name and student ID when picking up the meals.
