Brian Weiser, a former Washington-Liberty High School player, helped lead the Christopher Newport Captains to a 59-57 victory over the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets on Friday, March 13, in the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament.
The matchup at Crenshaw Gymnasium began at 7 p.m. and marked the first tournament meeting between the Captains and the Yellow Jackets.
The Captains are scheduled to play their next game on Thursday, March 19, at 1 p.m. at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
