Registration is open for the upcoming Condominium and Community Association Training sessions in Alexandria. The City of Alexandria, together with Mercer Trigiani, a local law firm, will offer workshops throughout fiscal year 2026. These sessions are intended for homeowners, property managers, and prospective buyers involved in common interest communities such as condominiums, townhomes, and cooperatives.
The educational series aims to inform participants about the structure and governance of these communities, increase board members’ knowledge, and help residents understand state laws affecting their associations. Participation is free but requires registration.
Three sessions are scheduled for 2026:
– January 10: Using Robert’s Rules of Order to Conduct a Meeting
– March 28: Leasing a Condo
– April 25: Dealing with Difficult People
According to the announcement, “Condominiums have traditionally been the most affordable homeownership housing option for first-time homebuyers in the City of Alexandria. Recognizing the importance of common interest communities in preserving the region’s economic and social diversity, the City of Alexandria hopes to broaden awareness of community association management to strengthen and preserve these valuable housing resources for the future.”
For more information about this education series, interested individuals can contact the Office of Housing by phone or email. Disability accommodations and language interpretation services are also available upon request.
