City of Alexandria offices and facilities will return to normal operating hours on Wednesday, January 17. The City operated on a delayed opening Tuesday due to inclement weather that caused closures and delays across the region.

The City continues to monitor weather and road conditions to ensure community safety. The Department of Transportation & Environmental Services has treated primary, secondary, intermediate, and residential roads.  Teams will continue to monitor conditions and address icy roads that may occur from refreezing.

The Department of Community & Human Services (DCHS) Winter Shelter at 2355-A Mill Road will be open 24 hours a day through Monday, January 22 at 7 a.m. Individuals and families who are seeking a warming center can call 571-652-9984 for more information.
