The City of Alexandria’s Office of Housing is organizing a virtual community meeting on November 17 to discuss draft recommendations and implementation strategies for two projects under the Housing 2040 initiative: Affordable Housing Preservation and Landlord Tenant Rights and Resources. The event will take place online from 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Residents interested in attending are asked to register through the official Zoom link at https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_rt8wFKfiSNS_t8qvOCHgLg. Spanish interpretation services will be available, and participants needing interpretation in other languages should indicate their preference on the registration form or contact Christopher Do at Christopher.Do@alexandriava.gov by November 10.

The Housing Master Plan (HMP) adopted in 2013 set out goals and strategies to address local housing needs through 2025. The city, working with community members and partners, is now updating this plan with new objectives extending through 2040. This process began with a Housing Needs Assessment and includes opportunities for public input on policy updates that aim to support Alexandria residents and workers.

Presentations, recordings from previous meetings—including those held in March, April, September—and information about ongoing Housing 2040 projects are available at alexandriava.gov/HousingPlan.

For further updates about the progress of Housing 2040, residents can visit the official website or follow @HousingAlexVA on X (formerly Twitter) and @HousingAlexandriaVA on Facebook.

Questions regarding registration may be directed to Christopher Do at Christopher.Do@alexandriava.gov or by phone at 703.746.3084. For disability accommodations, individuals should contact Gabriella DiLena at gabriella.dilena@alexandriava.gov or call 703.746.3089; Virginia Relay users can dial 711.
