The City of Alexandria is set to present early design plans for the Taylor Run Infrastructure Stabilization Project at a community meeting scheduled for Thursday, November 13. The event will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Charles Houston Recreation Center Multipurpose Room, located at 901 Wythe Street. Community members can also attend virtually via Zoom by registering in advance.
During the meeting, project team members will outline the project’s goals, planned improvements, and preliminary design plans. They will also discuss potential construction impacts and provide an initial project schedule. A public question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.
The Taylor Run Infrastructure Stabilization Project aims to protect critical stormwater and sanitary sewer infrastructure that is currently at risk. The approach being taken focuses on targeted and minimal intervention methods. In previous years, city staff collaborated with residents through the Stream Health Improvement Community Collaboration to develop stabilization recommendations for Taylor Run’s infrastructure. These recommendations were approved by City Council in 2023 and now form the basis for ongoing design work.
A recording of the meeting will be available for review by November 15. Comments from the public are encouraged and can be submitted online until close of business on November 21.
For those needing disability accommodations or language assistance services, contact information has been provided by city officials.
