Rep. Don Beyer, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 8th district, shared several messages on social media reflecting both celebratory and critical perspectives. Born in Trieste in 1950 and residing in Alexandria, Beyer has been a member of Congress since 2015 after succeeding Jim Moran.

On June 7, 2025, Beyer acknowledged National Trails Day by encouraging outdoor activities. He stated: “Happy National Trails Day! It’s always a lovely day for a hike, bike ride, or to just get outside and take in the views of our wonderful public lands.”

Later that day, he criticized the Trump Administration’s decision regarding health care guidance for pregnant women. He expressed concern over its potential impact: “The Trump Administration’s decision to rescind this guidance, which helps save pregnant women’s lives, will only deny women of critical health care and put their lives at needless risk.” He further emphasized ongoing efforts to protect essential health care.

Additionally, Beyer extended greetings for World Pride celebrations taking place in Washington D.C., urging safety and community support among participants: “Happy World Pride to all enjoying the festivities and events in DC this weekend! Stay safe, look out for one another, and remember to stay hydrated.”
