Rep. Don Beyer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 8th district since 2015, recently shared his views on several pressing issues via social media. Born in Trieste in 1950 and currently residing in Alexandria, Beyer has been active in addressing topics related to health care, economic conditions, and international diplomacy.

On June 12, 2025, Rep. Beyer criticized Republican attacks on the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), highlighting their reliance on outdated information. He stated: “Republicans are attacking Congress’ nonpartisan scorekeeper, which found their Big Billionaire Boondoggle rips health care from 16 million people and adds $3 trillion to the deficit.” He noted that Senator Tim Scott erroneously claimed the CBO was “wrong” during periods before its creation in 1974.

Later that day, Beyer addressed economic concerns by referring to data released by the Trump Administration indicating rising prices. He remarked: “Prices are in fact rising, according to the Trump Administration’s own data released yesterday.” Beyer emphasized that despite misinformation efforts, Americans would continue facing reality at points of purchase.

In another post made on June 12th, Rep. Beyer expressed support for diplomatic efforts regarding nuclear negotiations with Iran. He stated: “I support restoring a nuclear deal to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons — no matter who is president, and diplomacy is the right way to do that.” Additionally, he advised against military action by Israel and advocated for an American foreign policy aimed at preventing war.

Don Beyer’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College obtained in 1972.
