Rep. Don Beyer, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 8th District since 2015, recently posted a series of tweets criticizing actions taken by former President Donald Trump and Russ Vought. The posts, shared on October 14 and 15, 2025, focus on the treatment of federal public servants and a proposed bailout for Argentina.
On October 14, Beyer expressed support for public servants and criticized Trump and Vought, stating, “The public servants who have dedicated their careers to serving the American people love our country. And our country loves them back. We’ll keep fighting against the unnecessary pain Trump and Vought are inflicting on families. This is not the end.”
Continuing his critique the next day, Beyer addressed the reduction of federal agencies, writing, “In hollowing out entire agencies, Donald Trump and Russ Vought are attacking the devoted Americans who serve their country. But I want to say to our public servants: Do not lose hope. What is happening is wrong, and the American people stand with you.”
Later on October 15, Beyer commented on a reported financial decision by the Trump administration, saying, “‘$40 billion for Argentina’ the Trump Administration now says. A massive bailout for Argentina financed by U.S. taxpayers while Republicans say we don’t have enough money to stop healthcare costs from rising.”
Beyer, who was born in Trieste in 1950 and resides in Alexandria, has a background in public service and holds a degree from Williams College. He succeeded Jim Moran as the representative for Virginia’s 8th District.
These statements reflect Beyer’s ongoing criticism of the Trump administration’s policies toward federal employees and fiscal priorities.
