On January 8, 2026, Dykwon Perry Davis, a 27-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was sentenced by the Alexandria Circuit Court to 10 years of active incarceration after pleading guilty to two felony offenses: Abduction with the Intent to Defile and Attempted Rape.

The charges stemmed from an investigation into a reported sexual assault that took place on February 3, 2024, in the Potomac Yard neighborhood of Alexandria. The Alexandria Police Department led the investigation, with assistance from the Metro Transit Police Department in Washington, D.C.

The case was prosecuted by the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Alexandria in collaboration with the Office of the Attorney General for Virginia. The United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia also provided support. Prosecutors included Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorneys Harsh Voruganti and Ashtyn McDaniel and Assistant Attorney General Robert Strange. Detectives Ryan Clinch and Michael Matteson were lead investigators.

For Abduction with Intent to Defile, Davis received a sentence of 50 years, with 40 years suspended based on specific conditions. For Attempted Rape, he was sentenced to 10 years, with five years suspended under similar terms. Both sentences will run concurrently, resulting in a total active incarceration period of 10 years.

The court suspended part of Davis’s sentence on several conditions: good behavior, compliance with supervised probation for life, registration as a sex offender, completion of a sex offender evaluation and any required treatment, completion of substance abuse screening and treatment if needed, and payment of prosecution costs. A lifetime protective order was issued prohibiting contact with the victim.

Alexandria Commonwealth’s Attorney Bryan Porter stated: “This offense involved every citizen’s nightmare: a nighttime attack on a victim apparently selected at random, just hours after the defendant assaulted and exposed himself to another victim on the Metro in Washington, D.C. My office argued for an active sentence of 25 years. While I understand that sentencing hearings are difficult and the Court must weigh competing factors in arriving at a just sentence, I am disappointed that the sentence imposed by the Court was less than that sought by my office, and I am concerned about the defendant’s danger of reoffending upon his release from incarceration.”

“My thoughts are with the survivor of this horrendous offense. While a successful prosecution cannot address the immense impact of the crime, I sincerely hope that it might offer some solace and a chance for the survivor to move forward. I thank the Office of the Attorney General for its cooperation in this investigation and prosecution.”

Davis is being held without bail at William G. Truesdale Alexandria Adult Detention Center pending transfer to state corrections.

Alexandria is an independent city located in Northern Virginia along the west bank of the Potomac River facing Washington, D.C., as described on its official website. The city provides public services within its boundaries through an independent municipal government structure.
