Loudoun County election officials announced on March 2 that early voting for the upcoming special election scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, will begin on March 6.

The special election is important because it features a proposed amendment to the Constitution of Virginia regarding redistricting. Voters are encouraged to participate and be aware of key dates and procedures.

Early voting will take place at the Office of Elections and Voter Registration located at 750 Miller Dr. SE, Suite 150, Leesburg. The office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. On Election Day, voters must go to their assigned precincts, with polls open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The only item on the ballot is the proposed constitutional amendment about redistricting. A sample ballot is available online for voters who wish to review it before casting their vote.

Residents can stay informed by texting LCVOTES to 888777 or signing up for email and text notifications through the county’s system. The Office of Elections and Voter Registration also provides updates on its social media channels, while general information is posted by Loudoun County Government online.

More details about the April special election can be found on the Loudoun County website.
