Residents of Alexandria are invited to attend an Electric Vehicle (EV) Ride and Drive Event on Saturday, September 27. The event is organized by the City of Alexandria and will take place at Chinquapin Park, Lot 3, near the tennis courts at 3210 King St, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Participants will have the opportunity to test drive various electric vehicles provided by local dealerships. Attendees can also speak with local EV owners about topics such as charging infrastructure, available incentives, and other aspects of electric transportation.
For those who do not drive cars, the event will offer micromobility options including electric bikes and scooters. Test rides for these devices will be available from local retailers and operators working with the City.
To participate in vehicle test drives, attendees should bring their driver’s license.
The event comes ahead of the expiration of federal EV tax credits on September 30, 2025. More information about the event and electric vehicles in Alexandria can be found at alexandriava.gov/energy/electric-vehicles.
According to organizers: “Test drive different EVs from local dealerships and talk to local EV owners about charging, incentives, and the benefits of electric transportation.”
