Congressman Brett Guthrie and Congressman Richard Hudson have announced a hearing titled “AI in the Everyday: Current Applications and Future Frontiers in Communications and Technology.” The hearing will be held by the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology. It is scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 10:30 AM ET at the Rayburn House Office Building.

“Artificial intelligence is launching our economy into a new American golden age marked by development and opportunity,” said Chairmen Guthrie and Hudson. They emphasized the need for fast, reliable networks to support future AI applications. The hearing aims to discuss how Congress can support these goals.

Jim Shea, CEO of DeepSig Inc., testified before the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee on AI’s role in wireless communications. He highlighted DeepSig’s OmniPHY software, which uses AI to improve spectrum efficiency and reduce dropped calls in 5G systems. Shea also discussed OmniSIG software’s ability to detect signals faster than traditional methods, aiding spectrum sharing and network security.

Shea called for support of AI-native wireless R&D and spectrum-sharing initiatives. He stressed the importance of public-private collaboration to secure technological advantages for the U.S.

The hearing will be open to the public and press, with a livestream available online. For questions regarding the hearing or press inquiries, contact Noah Jackson or Daniel Kelly via email.
