Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed its annual defense spending bill, which includes a provision that prohibits taxpayer funding for sterilizing sex-change procedures on minors. The legislation was approved by a vote of 281-140.
Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project (APP), expressed support for the bill’s passage. “Today’s House vote marks a precedent-setting victory over the predatory transgender industry,” he said. Schilling criticized the use of taxpayer money for what he described as “the horrific medical malpractice of ‘transitioning’ children to live as the opposite sex.” He further noted that while England has banned puberty blockers for children, similar treatments continue in the United States due to ideological and financial motivations.
Schilling praised Speaker Johnson’s leadership in ensuring this provision was included in the bill and urged Republican leaders to prioritize this issue moving forward. “Voters this November gave the GOP a mandate to act — now they must follow through,” he concluded.
