Loudoun County is offering a series of free behavioral health training sessions in September 2025. The programs are designed to help residents identify and respond to mental health issues, substance use disorders, opioid overdoses, and suicide crises.

Mental Health First Aid training will be available in two formats: one for adults and another for adults who interact with youth. The adult session is scheduled for September 23 and 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., requiring attendance on both days. The youth-focused session will take place on September 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. More information and registration details can be found at https://www.loudoun.gov/MHFirstAid.

The county is also providing REVIVE! opioid overdose reversal training in two versions. Rapid REVIVE! offers a brief six-minute video that can be accessed at any time without registration; participants receive free naloxone nasal spray after completing the video and submitting contact information. Naloxone can be mailed or picked up locally, with options available in English (https://www.loudoun.gov/RapidRevive) and Spanish (https://www.loudoun.gov/ReviveEspanol). Virtual REVIVE! requires registration for a one-hour online session, with the next class set for September 19 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Registration details are at https://www.loudoun.gov/revive.

Suicide prevention training using the Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) method will be held virtually on September 15 from noon to 1:30 p.m. This program teaches attendees how to recognize warning signs of suicide and refer individuals for professional help. Information about this training is available at https://www.loudoun.gov/SuicidePreventionTraining.

Anyone needing accommodations or language assistance should contact the county by phone or email with three business days’ notice.
