Loudoun County is holding a government surplus auction that features farm equipment, vehicles, electronics, and office supplies, according to an announcement on April 10. The auction will close at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 16.
The auction offers items such as a DuraTech Haybuster, John Deere gator, New Holland Boomer 4055 Tractor/Hay Wagon, a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe Special Service Vehicle, Canon and Nikon cameras, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 video game consoles, office furniture, books and more. Detailed information and photographs of the items are available online for those interested in viewing or bidding.
Bidding is conducted through Public Surplus—a platform created for public agencies. Registration is required but free; however, all purchases incur a buyer’s premium of 9.75 percent. Loudoun County government employees face certain bidding restrictions as outlined in the auction’s terms and conditions available on the Public Surplus website.
Successful bidders must pick up their items by appointment at 14 Cardinal Park Drive, Suite 106 in Leesburg during designated hours between morning and afternoon sessions. Each item’s listing provides specific pickup dates.
The county said the surplus auction helps keep usable goods out of landfills by allowing them to be repurposed for new owners. More details about surplus sales can be found at loudoun.gov/surplus.
