The Loudoun County Clerk of the Circuit Court’s Jury Management Team has begun sending out 55,000 jury questionnaire postcards to residents. The effort is part of a process to identify individuals qualified for jury duty in 2026. Postcards are being mailed throughout September.

Recipients are asked to complete the jury questionnaire using a secure online portal accessed through a QR code provided on the postcard. This method aims to streamline and reduce costs in handling a large number of questionnaires.

The annual process helps establish a pool of potential jurors who may be called upon in 2026. Clerk of the Circuit Court Gary M. Clemens clarified that, “The jury questionnaire postcard is not a summons for jury duty. It is simply the first step in the process to determine who is qualified under Virginia law to fulfill jury service in the circuit court for calendar year 2026.”

Clemens encouraged those receiving postcards to use either the QR code or secure website link to complete the form online, noting that instructions are included for those unable to use the digital option.

“The timely participation of those who receive the questionnaires is beneficial to the efficiency of the qualification process and it helps the court system provide the constitutional guarantee of a jury trial to criminal and civil litigants,” Clemens said. “I appreciate the cooperation of each resident who receives a juror questionnaire postcard.”
