The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors approved the Fiscal Year 2027 Operating Budget for Loudoun County Public Schools, according to an April 10 announcement from Superintendent Dr. Aaron Spence.
The approval is described as a significant development for students, staff, and school communities in the county. The budget aims to provide resources and support necessary for student success while continuing investments in key educational services.
Dr. Spence said, “I would like to thank the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors for approving the FY27 Operating Budget as presented, marking an important step forward for our students, staff and school communities.” He added that the budget reflects a shared commitment to ensuring every student has access to opportunities and support needed to thrive.
The new budget includes ongoing funding for services benefiting English Learners and students receiving special education support. It also provides additional teachers and instructional coaches aimed at expanding academic access. Specialized programs such as Dual-Language Immersion, the Academy of Global and Linguistic Studies, R.I.S.E. Academy, and International Baccalaureate Career Pathways will receive strengthened support under this plan.
In addition to academic investments, new extracurricular opportunities will be introduced with girls flag football, boys volleyball, and girls wrestling being added. The budget also includes measures intended to recognize employees through improved compensation and benefits.
Dr. Spence concluded by expressing gratitude: “I am extremely appreciative of the continued partnership of the Board of Supervisors and the many families, staff and community members who contributed their voices throughout this process.” He emphasized his appreciation for serving in a community that values public education.
