Students and staff across Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) marked the second annual One LCPS Celebration Day on October 16. The event, started last year by Superintendent Dr. Aaron Spence, is intended to recognize the contributions of school communities.
“We’re observing One LCPS Celebration Day to recognize the incredible educators, leaders, families and students who make living and working in Loudoun County so amazing,” said Dr. Aaron Spence, LCPS Superintendent. “We are one of the nation’s leading school divisions, and it’s important that we spend some time reflecting on and sharing in the spirit of this work we do together.”
On Thursday, Dr. Spence joined division leadership and senior staff in visiting schools throughout the district. They took photos with students and staff, expressed appreciation, and offered congratulations for their efforts. Schools received items such as selfie boards, foam fingers, and stickers to encourage participation in a photo contest; winners will be announced during the first full week of November.
LCPS continues to be recognized for its achievements in education. The district reports strong Standards of Learning (SOL) scores at the state level as well as workforce development initiatives that position it as a leader both regionally and nationally.
