Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) held its 2025 Workforce Summit on October 24, bringing together over 250 participants including community members, business leaders, educators, and nonprofit representatives. The summit focused on preparing students for the evolving workforce and fostering partnerships to support student development.
Dr. Aaron Spence, LCPS Superintendent, stated: “The LCPS Workforce Summit is about connecting learning to real-life opportunities. Through meaningful partnerships with our local businesses, government, and non-profits, we’re giving students opportunities to earn credentials, gain experience, and find purpose before they even graduate. Together, we’re building the bridge between education and the evolving workforce.”
The event featured a panel discussion with current and former LCPS students who shared their views and suggestions regarding partnerships between schools, students, and businesses. During the morning session, the Broadlands Rotary Club presented a $2,000 donation to the Loudoun Education Foundation. Attendees also participated in breakout discussions focusing on workforce opportunities in key local sectors.
Loudoun County School Board Chair Melinda Mansfield said: “As a Board, we are committed to ensuring that every student in Loudoun County Public Schools has access to meaningful and impactful learning experiences. We believe that learning should open doors, expand possibilities, and inspire confidence in every child’s future.”
