The Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Division of Family and Community Engagement held its first Interfaith Luncheon on November 13, 2025, at the LCPS Administration Building in Ashburn. The event was organized under the theme “United in Service” and aimed to recognize the contributions of faith communities to students and families.

More than 120 participants attended, including faith leaders, school staff, and community partners. The luncheon focused on how faith-based organizations support students, families, and schools throughout Loudoun County.

Superintendent Dr. Aaron Spence delivered the keynote address. He stated, “Bringing together leaders from across our faith communities reflects the true spirit of One LCPS. Our faith-based partners play a vital role in supporting students and families, helping us extend care, compassion and connection well beyond the classroom. When we unite around service and shared purpose, we create stronger schools and a stronger Loudoun community.”

The program included accounts from LCPS Family Liaisons and faith partners about their collaborative efforts to provide resources such as food, furniture, mentoring, and support for newcomers. A short video titled “Faith in Action” highlighted joint initiatives involving St. Theresa Catholic Church, McLean Bible Church, and LCPS Family Liaisons.

Coinciding with World Kindness Day, the event featured table discussions where attendees exchanged ideas for future collaboration to increase collective impact.

Renée Dawson, director of Family and Community Engagement at LCPS said: “Education thrives when the broader community walks alongside our schools. Our faith partners are often the unsung heroes whose generosity and compassion make a lasting difference in the lives of students, staff and families. Their continued partnership strengthens our schools and builds a foundation of belonging and care that extends throughout our community.”

Guests received a World Kindness Day gift as an expression of appreciation for their commitment to building a more connected community.
