Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) has opened nominations for its Annual Awards program, which recognizes employees across a range of school-based and non-school-based positions. The awards are divided into instructional and operational categories, covering roles such as teacher, principal, new teacher, professional staff, student services support, instructional support, administrative support, substitute teachers, bus drivers and attendants, custodial services, school nutrition services, safety and security personnel, information technology staff, professional tradespeople and other support staff.

A full list of eligible positions for each category is available on the LCPS Instructional Awards-eligible positions page.

Nominations can be made by staff members, parents, students or community members in recognition of an employee’s exemplary performance. Self-nominations or nominations from an employee’s relatives are not accepted. Employees who received awards during the 2024-2025 school year are not eligible this cycle.

Public nominations for Teacher of the Year will be forwarded to individual schools for consideration; each school may submit one nomination to the division level. Nominations for Principal of the Year will be sent to the appropriate level director. All nominations will be acknowledged at the school level.

A selection committee composed of current LCPS staff and community members will review submitted materials using a standardized rubric. Performance records and past evaluations will also be considered in selecting winners.

Completed nomination forms must be submitted by 5 p.m., Friday, February 13th, 2026 via the 2024-2025 LCPS Annual Awards Nomination Form link. Late or incomplete submissions will not be reviewed. More details can be found on the Employee Recognition website.
