Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) has reported that an email threat was sent to several school divisions and higher education organizations throughout Virginia. According to LCPS, law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the situation. The message emphasized that the threat was broad in nature and there is currently no evidence of a specific or credible risk to any LCPS school.
As a precaution, LCPS announced it will increase law enforcement presence at its schools for the next two days. This measure is being taken in coordination with local law enforcement partners. “The safety and security of our students and staff is always our highest priority, and we take any potential concern seriously,” the statement said.
LCPS also called on students, staff, and families to remain vigilant and report anything unusual or concerning to school administrators or local authorities. “See something, say something remains an important part of keeping our school communities safe,” the message stated.
The district expressed appreciation for the ongoing support from its community as it continues to work closely with law enforcement to maintain safe learning environments.
