Loudoun County has released its Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Story, providing an overview of how the county’s $4.7 billion budget will impact residents and businesses. The online resource, available at loudoun.gov/BudgetStory, explains the allocation of funds for county programs and details new initiatives set for the upcoming fiscal year.

The publication includes information about projects from the Capital Improvement Program, which covers a six-year plan to fund public facilities and infrastructure in Loudoun County.

Printed copies of the Budget Story will be distributed at various locations such as the Loudoun County Government Center, local public library branches, community centers, and recreation centers.

According to county officials, “The FY 2026 Budget Story illustrates how the county’s $4.7 billion budget affects Loudoun residents and businesses, including how new programs and resources will serve residents and businesses in the coming fiscal year. The FY 2026 Budget Story also highlights selected projects from the Capital Improvement Program, which is a six-year funding plan for public facilities and infrastructure.”

Officials add that “The Budget Story serves as a companion piece to the county’s FY 2026 Adopted Budget and provides an additional resource for Loudoun taxpayers to learn about the county’s budget. Printed copies will be available at many county government facilities, including the Loudoun County Government Center, Loudoun County Public Library branches and Loudoun County community centers and recreation centers.”

The adopted FY 2026 budget took effect on July 1, 2025. Residents can access more detailed financial documents online at loudoun.gov/budget.
