Loudoun County announced on April 6 that a groundbreaking ceremony will be held to mark the start of construction for a new segment of Crosstrail Boulevard, extending from Sycolin Road to the Dulles Greenway.

The event is set for Monday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. near the intersection of Crosstrail Boulevard and Sycolin Road in Leesburg. Parking will be available at the First Baptist Church Sycolin parking lot located at 19976 Sycolin Road. Members of the Board of Supervisors, as well as representatives from the Town of Leesburg and Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, are expected to participate in the ceremonial groundbreaking.

The project involves designing and building a four-lane, median-divided road between Sycolin Road and the Dulles Greenway interchange. Plans also include constructing a bridge over the south tributary to Sycolin Creek. Funding comes from both local sources and contributions by the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority.
